Three suspected cattle rustlers arrested at Outjo

Three men, two aged 19 and the other aged 35 years, linked to a suspected stock theft syndicate in the Outjo district are expected to appear in the Outjo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha on Sunday told Nampa that the suspected cattle rustlers were apprehended Friday afternoon in the Kap en Bou informal settlement in Outjo during a police operation.

Wolves edge Lions in thriller

University of Namibia (UNAM) Wolves Basketball Club edged Lions Basketball Club 99-93 in a thrilling first match of the second round of the Khomas Basketball League played at the UNAM Gym Hall on Friday evening.
The match was watched by a sizeable crowd, which saw Peter ‘Spiderman’ Parker putting up a man of the match performance as he dominated in both defence and attack.
Parker top scored with 19 points for Wolves as the defending champions avenged their first round defeat to Lions, who had Joe Banda top scoring with 21 points.

Stars down KCCA 3-2

Comorian international striker Ibroihim Youssouf scored two goals and created one as African Stars Football Club beat Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) in the first leg match of the Confederation of African Football Champions League’s preliminary round at the Sam Nujoma Stadium on Saturday.
Stars fell behind in a bizarre fashion when the usually reliable defender Ivan Kamberipa scored an own goal with less than 20 minutes played.

Felesianu loses WBO title fight

Albinius ‘Danny Boy’ Felesianu lost to Zimbabwe’s Peter Pambeni by a majority decision in their 12-round Lightweight World Boxing Organisation (WBO) vacant African title at Ramatex, Windhoek on Saturday during Salute Boxing Academy’s ‘Clash of the Titans’ boxing bonanza.
Pambeni dominated his opponent landing more punches to the body and head, while the Namibian landed the most of the heavier punches leading to the Zimbabwean losing his tooth.
Two judges scored the fight in favour of the Zimbabwean while one scored it in favour of the Namibian.
