New Zimbabwean President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, is expected to visit Namibia on Monday.
A media statement issued on Thursday by the Office of the President’s Press Secretary, Albertus Aochamub, said Mnangagwa will pay a one-day courtesy visit to Namibia, where he is expected to formally introduce himself since assuming office in November 2017.
The statement said the Zimbabwean Head of State will also hold bilateral talks with President Hage Geingob to establish new possible areas of cooperation.
‘This is the first working visit by President Mnangagwa since his inauguration and the visit is being conducted in the interest of further strengthening existing excellent bilateral relations between Namibia and Zimbabwe,’ said the statement.
President Geingob also serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community, in which Zimbabwe is a member.
