Public must be orderly and patient during SADC summit

The Namibian Police (NamPol) has called on members of the public to be orderly and patient with the flow of traffic during the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit.
The 38th Ordinary Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the SADC and preceding meetings are taking place in Windhoek from 09 to 18 August.
NamPols Public Relations Division Head, Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi told members of the media on Thursday that all the Heads of State will have motorcades, a courtesy that is usually accorded to such figures when visiting.
He said there will be a police presence at intersections and some roads would be busy while the various Heads of State are passing.
We really have to show that we are an orderly society, [that] we can be patient and let them pass and so on, Kanguatjivi said.
Some of the summit advance teams are already here, while others are still arriving for preparation, he added, noting that the period between 16 and 19 August will be particularly busy.
The outgoing SADC Chairperson, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa will hand over the reins to incoming Chair, President Hage Geingob.
